Thorndon Hall — fire-door compliance & maintenance

Thorndon Hall is a landmark Grade I-listed property, and its communal areas have to meet strict fire-safety standards. We were brought in to bring the building's fire doors fully up to current regulations — working to exact specification throughout and completing the programme in four weeks.

What we did

We carried out a full fire-door upgrade to current regulations: replacing door closers, fitting intumescent fire and smoke strips, and renewing lock sets throughout the communal areas.

Where doors or frames were beyond compliance, we installed brand-new certified fire doors and frames — including new sets in the building's basement and service areas — each fitted to exact spec with the correct ironmongery, closers and signage.
